Power U 8: Deep Dive on Power and Effectiveness

White text on a red and black background. Text reads "Power U with Andrea Reimer".

A good friend has gently pointed to a part of the original video that is harmful. I have edited it to ensure it's not a permanent harm and am working on a post for next week about implicit bias and power. Original text follows.

ORIGINAL TEXT
Power Lift #8 -Sorry for the delay in posting the next video. September is always a busy time but filmmaker Eileen Park Robertson and I also had the chance to connect and the quality she can bring to these is so much higher it seemed worth waiting for.

The last power video (#7) talked about how critical context and the criteria that matter in that context is to understanding your power, and even more importantly what power you need to build to be effective. This video dives deeper on that including opening up one of my favourite topics: purpose, and the connection of power and purpose.

A couple of other things I wanted to share with you. The first videos were a pilot that Eila convinced me to try to bring the power work out of the classroom and I am so glad she did! I've decided to keep going with the idea of doing a 100 videos and then taking another pause to reflect.

We've also changed the name to Power U which is both what I hope these are doing for you and a declaration of owning our right to learn and talk about power. Thanks for checking it out and I always appreciate your reflections.
