Power U 80: A more sophisticated look at election season
What to look for in candidates and yourself to work towards better election results

We are the second leg of a little mini series on power and elections.
Last episode we talked about how reward and coercive power are real powers that voters hold. But when thousands of people are all making the same threats from all sides of every issue, the signals cancel out. Its more like a sledgehammer than a scalpel and you're just as likely to hit yourself as the policy target you're aiming at.
So what does a more sophisticated power toolkit look like when you're staring down a long ballot with two (or three!) weeks to go?
It starts with three questions that go well beneath where a candidate says they stand.
Don't forget that advance voting for local governments is opening this weekend in Vancouver and across BC next week.
